Kitchen Nightmares Begins Taping at Local Restaurant

Chef Gordon Ramsay spending four days trying to revamp Bella Luna in Forks Township.

The parking lot at Bella Luna was closed off Wednesday afternoon as Kitchen Nightmares began a four-day shoot at the Forks Township restaurant.

The FOX network show follows celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay as he tries to help struggling restaurants.

He spends time tasting their food, observing their dinner services and inspecting their kitchens.

Invariably, he finds problems with some or all of these things—bad food, mismanaged services, filthy kitchens.

To turn things around—and often following confrontations with the owners—he'll bring in a new menu, refurbish the restaurant, and put it on the right track.

A FOX spokeswoman said the taping would be closed to the media. The Kitchen Nightmares crew was expected to be at Bella Luna on Sullivan Trail from Wednesday to Saturday.

On Twitter Wednesday, local food blogger The El Vee speculatedthat Ramsay would eat at either Easton's Sette Luna or DeLorenzo's in Forks while he was in the area.

This is the second time this year that one of Ramsay's shows had a Lehigh Valley connection. Earlier this year, Parkland graduate Jessica Lewis was a contestant on Hell's Kitchen, but was eliminated after seven episodes.

Last year's Hell's Kitchen winner was Phillipsburg, NJ native Christina Wilson.

It's also the second time this year a restaurant rescue show has come to the area. The Food Network's Restaurant Impossible visited Fountain Hill's Benner Street Restaurant and Bar in May.
