Snow Could Make A Mess of Monday Commutes

A winter weather advisory is in effect for the region.

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow Sunday morning, guaranteeing another six weeks of winter, and the groundhog wasn't kidding: Another half-foot of snow is headed our way.

A winter weather advisory will be in place from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service said. The area likely will see between 3 and 5 inches of snow, the NWS said.

There will be noticeable snow accumulation by dawn, the NWS said.

"Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities," The National Weather Service said in a statement. "Use caution while driving."

Winds of 5 to 10 mph are expected. Temperatures around 30 are likely.
