Search Continues for Matthew Greene

The search continues for Matthew Greene, a Nazareth High School math teacher and Bethlehem resident last seen in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. on July 16 where he was hiking.

Greene's family reports on their Find Matthew Greene Facebook page that they have now opened an official missing person case in the Lehigh Valley in addition to the search efforts going on in California.

Also, a detective put Greene's family in contact with a family that spoke with Greene at a campground on the weekend before he disappeared. Greene's family has given the campers scanned copies of the pages that were missing from his guide book in case that jogs their memory of anything he might have said about his plans.

The Greene family is considering options such as hiring a professional tracker or hiring a retired officer with a trained cadaver dog who works on missing persons cases.

Volunteers continue to post flyers, check lost and found and follow up with businesses in Mammoth Lakes for any information that might have been missed — and to keep publicizing Greene's story.

The Find Matthew Greene Facebook page has exceeded 11,800 likes.
