Lower Nazareth Twp. Seeks Zoning Board Members
Two zoning board vacancies need to be filled.
Lower Nazareth Township supervisors are looking to fill two openings on the township's Zoning Hearing Board.
Zoning board chairman Robert Hicks informed township officials in August that he plans to resign. Another zoning board member also wants to resign from the main board and continue to serve only as an alternate, township manager Timm Tenges said Wednesday.
Any township resident who wants to serve on the zoning hearing board should call the at (610) 759-7434. Prospective members will need to submit a written letter of interest.

In Pennsylvania, a township zoning hearing board consists of three members and two alternates who are appointed by the board of supervisors. The zoning board acts as a quasi-judicial body that conducts legally binding hearings and issues decisions on appeals, variances and special exceptions to the township's zoning ordinances.
