Donate Books for Make-A-Wish Fundraiser

A Nazareth Area High School sophomore and his family will hold a three-day book sale from June 27 to 29; all proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania.

The Ohrwashel family of Upper Nazareth Township is accepting donations for a summer book sale—the seventh sale the family has planned—that will be held June 27, 28 and 29.

All proceeds made during the three-day sale, which is being spearheaded by Nazareth Area High School sophomore Cameron Ohrwashel, will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania.

New and used books—children or adult—will be accepted. Please do not donate encyclopedia sets, textbooks or Reader's Digest condensed version books.

Over the past six years, the Ohrwashel family has raised more than $25,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The book sale was the brainchild of Cameron's sister, Kendall.

During the summer of 2012, the Ohrwashels and an army of volunteers raised —enough money to fully grant the wish of one child.

In addition to raising money for Make-A-Wish, about 10,000 books were donated to Brenton's Hope, a non-profit organization that raises childhood cancer awareness and funds for local children and their families who are facing hardships due to a cancer diagnosis.
