Creative? Carve a Pumpkin, Win Prizes

A family pumpkin carving contest is planned on the lawn of the Whitefield House in Nazareth.

The Moravian Historical Society is hosting a family pumpkin carving contest on the lawn of the Whitefield House in Nazareth.

The contest will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Alexandria Manor is sponsoring the event.

Participants can compete as individuals or pairs for prizes in several categories: funniest, scariest, best Moravian theme, best kids’ pumpkin and more, according to a posting on the Moravian Historical Society's Facebook page. The pumpkins can be carved or painted.

Pumpkins will be provided for free for society members and for $2 for non-members.

Participants are encouraged to wear costumes. They can bring tools or purchase them from the Whitefield House gift shop.

There will also be a "spooky" sing-a-long in the Whitefield House museum on an historic 1776 Tannenberg Organ.

RSVP is requested. For more information, go to www.moravianhistoricalsociety.org or call 610-759-5070.
