Boy Covered in Broken Glass After School Bus Accident
Ten windows on a school bus were damaged by the bucket on a farm tractor.
A boy narrowly escaped injury by ducking when forks attached to the bucket of a farm tractor smashed through windows of a school bus on April 24, according to the student's mother.
The accident happened at about 4 p.m. as the bus was eastbound on Kromer Road near Route 308 in Bushkill Township when David Lilly pulled out of his private road while driving a tractor, according to a WFMZ report.
The boy's mother, Tricia Fasching, told Patch: "The spike went into the bus exactly where his head was, but thankfully he ducked as low as he could get when the he heard the brakes and saw the equipment starting to smash into the side of the bus. He was covered in glass. It was in his shoes, underwear, backpack etc and he had to shower when he got home since he had glass on his scalp."
One other student was on the bus.
Lilly did not see the bus until it was too late, WFMZ reported, and ten windows on the bus were damaged. Lilly and the bus driver were not injured and neither person showed signs of impairment, according to WFMZ.
