9/11 Remembered: Vigil, Film and Free Memorial Flag Viewing

The 9/11 Memorial Flag is currently on display at the Sigal Museum in Easton.

The Sigal Museum in Easton will offer free museum admission Wednesday to allow for wider viewing of the 9/11 Memorial Flag currently on display there, as Americans pause to remember the thousands of people killed and injured in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Here's what's also planned Wednesday at the Sigal Museum, 342 Northampton St., Easton:

  • Producer Lou Reda will introduce his 45-minute documentary USS New York at 10:30 a.m. in the John Austen Auditorium.
  • Flag-Keeper Thomas McBrien IV will talk about the Memorial Flag at noon. 

Also in the Lehigh Valley in observance of the Sept. 11 anniversary:

  • SteelStacks in Bethlehem will host a Patriots Day Celebration featuring a concert of patriotic music and marches by the Bethlehem Municipal Band, starting at 7 p.m. All day, ArtsQuest will be celebrating the region’s first responders by displaying banners that feature photos of the region’s police, firefighters and emergency medical technicians.
  • The Emmaus Public Library is hosting Community Heroes Day at 6 p.m. Wednesday. You can meet the people in the community who help the public: policemen, firemen and ambulance crews. People also will be able to climb on a fire truck, look inside an ambulance and sit in a police car.  This progam is free and for all ages. 
Elsewhere:
  • The Garden of Reflection, the Pennsylvania Sept. 11 Memorial at 1950 Woodside Road in Yardley, Bucks County, will host a “Remembrance in Light” ceremony Wednesday. The ceremony will be held from 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and will include representation from surviving friends and family members of those killed in the attacks, police and fire, airline pilots, flight attendants and members of the armed forces.
