Nazareth Bike Fest to be Held Saturday

Nazareth's first-ever Bike Fest will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 19; the event will feature a motorcycle show with three prize categories: nostalgic, custom and antique.

The first-ever Nazareth Bike Fest, hosted by the Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce and Vigilance Hose Co. No. 1, will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 19. The Bike Fest, which will feature motorcycles, will be held on Center Square and down Main and Belvidere streets. The event will feature a bike show with three prize categories: nostalgic, custom and antique. To enter your motorcycle in the show, contact Eric Herman at ericheckman@verizon.net. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded. In addition to the show, live bands will perform throughout the day. There will also be a food court, a beer garden and various craft vendors. Sands Casino Wins for Best Staycation Destination

Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem wins this week's poll: the best spot for a staycation.

  Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem was named the best place for a staycation by those in Nazareth Patch.  A close second, with 25 percent of the vote, was Jacobsburg State Park / Boulton Historic Site. The Sands Casino in Bethlehem is part of a new wave of destinations in the Lehigh Valley. Three New Lower Nazareth Businesses Take Shape

Construction is just beginning on the new LongHorn Steakhouse in Lower Nazareth Township, while the new Petco and PetSmart are receiving the finishing touches.

Have you been to the Lower Nazareth Commons Plaza recently? You may have noticed that the new LongHorn Steakhouse, which is being built in the lot next to AT&T, is quickly taking shape. According to a fact sheet on www.longhornsteakhouse.com, the restaurant provides a casual dining experience, and the menu includes items like chicken, shrimp, salmon, spare ribs, soups, salads, bread and desserts. In addition to fountain drinks, there is a full bar. There are 370 LongHorn Steakhouse restaurants in 35 states, the fact sheet says. Locally, there is a LongHorn in Whitehall and in Bartonsville, Monroe County. Each LongHorn is about 5,600 square feet with a dining room and bar that can seat 204 customers, according to the fact sheet. The …

Lehigh Valley Home Sales Up in April

Lehigh Valley realtors say the local housing market is growing steadily.

The Lehigh Valley housing market is showing steady growth, according to the latest report from the valleywide Association of Realtors. Among the highlights: “For the past several months, our members have been sharing anecdotal reports that real estate activity is steadily increasing.  The market data from our research substantiates in quantifiable terms what we have been hearing,” said Ryan Conrad, chief executive officer of the Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors.  What real estate trends do you see in your neighborhood? Five Below to Hold Grand Opening Celebration May 11-13

The new Five Below in Lower Nazareth Township will hold its grand opening celebration May 11-13; everything in the store is priced between $1 and $5.

You can’t get much for less than $5 these days -- unless you shop at a store where everything is priced between $1 and $5. Now, Lower Nazareth Township residents can do just that. Five Below in the Lower Nazareth Commons Plaza will hold its grand opening celebration May 11-13. The store is one of more than 195 other Five Below stores spanning 16 eastern and mid-Atlantic states. The next closest store to the Nazareth area is on MacArthur Road in Whitehall. Registration Open for 3rd Annual Curt’s Cyclery Century

Registration is now open for the 3rd annual Curt’s Cyclery Century, to be held on Saturday, June 9.

The 3rd annual Curt’s Cyclery Century -- C³ for short -- will be held on Saturday, June 9, and registration is now open. The first 34 registrants will receive a free event T-shirt. Go to curtscyclery.com for the registration form. The fee to register is $20 -- $25 if registered on the day of the event. Proceeds will benefit Angel 34. During the event, cyclists are given a 10-mile route that begins and ends at Curt's Cyclery, which is owned by Dee and Curt Miller. The event isn't a race -- it's a ride. Cyclists can do as many laps as they'd like, as quickly or as slowly as they'd like, and they can bike for as many as 10 laps, which equals 100 miles -- "a century" in the bike industry. C.F. Martin & Co. names Amani Duncan as its Vice President of Brand Marketing.

  In a press release Monday, C.F. Martin & Co. announced that it has promoted Amani Duncan from director of promotional marketing to vice president of brand marketing. “Amani was chosen to round out the Core Team at Martin for her creative thinking and great enthusiasm,” said Keith Lombardi, president and COO. “In her short tenure at Martin Guitar she has completely overhauled our marketing efforts, providing a vibrant, youth-oriented approach while still staying true to our heritage and culture.
