Toss and Turn or Get Something Done

The dog woke me after just two hours of sleep. I spent another hour tossing and turning trying to decide whether to get up and get something done or continue to try to get back to sleep.

Since I've given up and crawled out of bed, I've managed to delete 72 emails, return six emails, read my Facebook messages and write about 50 words of this week's blog. I'm not sure it was worth it.

I should have gone downstairs and decluttered the kitchen, sorted mail, paid bills, done some laundry.  That's not happening.

It's a shame that wide awake in the middle of the night doesn't translate into energized, perky and motivated to get chores finished or at least started.

To make matters worse, the guilt I feel for not being more productive now is compounded by the knowledge that I will be less productive tomorrow because of lack of sleep.

It's the worst of both worlds: not getting important things done AND not getting my rest.

Seems like a good time to go to bed.

I understand your dilemma i worked night shift for 7 years and when i left i went crazy at night staring at the ceiling. It took some time but i finally learned to sleep through the night. My family was grateful when i did though, cause i kept sneaking into their rooms to put away the laundry.
