Last Sunday, my kids altar-served at Holy Family's 9 a.m. Mass. We usually go to the Nazareth Diner afterward to reward ourselves for the earlier-than-usual start. (We typically go to Mass at 11 a.m.)

Oh, the let down when I realized an omelet wasn't in my immediate future.

Even though I only go to the Nazareth Diner for breakfast once a month or so, it seems I'm dying to go now that I can't. Everytime I drive by, I wince just a little.

On Easter Sunday, my cousin Jill remarked that Sicily's was closed for the holiday but was open the preceeding Tuesday to make up for it. Sicily's Pizza is typically closed on a Tuesday -- the only day of the week it closes. We shared stories about how we crave Sicily's and actually begin to drive there only to realize that it is Tuesday and that they are closed.

It seems we all want what we can't have.

Right now, I want the Nazareth Diner's spinach and feta omelet with dry wheat toast and extra crispy homefries...please!
