Revealed: Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway's Oscar Dress Mess

How did Lehigh Valley's Amanda Seyfried derail Anne Hathaway's plan for what to wear on the red carpet at the 2013 Academy Awards?

The 2013 Oscar ceremony is history but there's still buzz about what the stars wore on the red carpet and why.

Turns out Lehigh Valley star Amanda Seyfried may have caused her "Les Miserables" co-star Anne Hathaway to make a hasty last-minute gown selection change.

Allentown native Seyfried looked stunning in a pale appliqued dress by British designer Alexander McQueen.

Reports now say Hathaway saw a photo of the gown Seyfried planned to wear and then changed her choice because the gowns were so similar.

Hathaway said she was planning to wear a Valentino gown up until just three hours before the awards ceremony. She ended up wearing a pale pink Prada gown with chest darts that accentated her, um, nipples. Hathaway issued an apology about the gown controversy after the event.

She also ended up winning the award for best supporting actress.

She is stunning in any dress! There's alot to be said for a pretty, smart, and bold woman who is also a great actress. Certainly she's at the top of red carpet stunners.

God forbid someone shows up in a similar gown! I guess it doesn't matter if you are Hollywood, or a seventeen year old going to the prom. Everyone wants to stand out and be noticed, but certainly not duplicated! I can remember going to a prom and there were at least 10 of us in the same dress! Different colors, but the same. Those were the days when you could only get a prom dress at Sommach on Seventh Street in Allentown! They didn't keep track of who was wearing what and to what prom! I don't remember it being a big deal. Maybe because we all looked pretty and were having a good time! Old memories, LOL

Happened to me at a NY wedding. My older (and much thinner) sister wore the same outfit!!! I wouldn't have minded if she didn't look so much better in it!

I thought the Prada dress she wore was fabulous. I also think that the VP in charge of Bodice Dart Placement at Prada is on unemployment about right now.

I too thought the Prada dress was stunning. The should have put cups in the bodice. It would have filled the dress a little better and not caused such a huge uproar!

I tried to focus on her beautiful smile and bob cut, but couldn't help to think she looked cold.
