10:55 a.m. Update: There will be a vigil at Bethlehem's Central Moravian Church at 5 p.m. Sunday, according to a Lehigh Valley Live report.

Original report:

A prayer vigil for the victims of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn. will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at a Prayer Center, 529 E. Broad Street in Bethlehem.

“In times of deep felt sorrow, we need to come together to share our grief, to voice our outrage in edifying ways, and to pray,” Rev. Marilyn Arroyo Hartman, senior pastor of El Shaddai Bethlehem Ministries, stated when asked about the prayer vigil.

There will be a facilitator on hand to assist in the conversation.

The prayer center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for prayer and reflection.

I won't be able to attend the vigil tonight, however, our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathy go out to the families of those who lost their lives as well as the entire community in Conneticut.
