A 16-year-old borough boy has been charged with criminal mischief for eight separate graffiti reports.
A 16-year-old Nazareth boy has been charged with criminal mischief for eight separate graffiti reports, according to Police Chief Thomas Trachta.
Trachta said the boy, who was not named because of his age, admitted to the graffiti spree that started around November 2011.
"We’re estimating somewhere around $800 worth of damage," Trachta said, adding that the tagging was done mainly with permanent marker. "We contacted the victims and we are looking for restitution."
The teen went by the tag name "Smokie," and graffiti was found on a variety of things, including utility poles, garage doors and windows. According to Trachta, private homes and commercial buildings were hit, as were three borough parks.
