Nazareth Man Allegedly Assaults Girlfriend, Chips Her Tooth

Thad Starner of the 100 block of S. Whitfield Street is in Northampton County Prison in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.

A Nazareth man is facing assault charges after a verbal and physical altercation left his girlfriend with a chipped tooth, according to police.

According to a criminal complaint:

On Sept. 24 around 9:45 a.m., police were called to a home on the 100 block of S. Whitfield Street for a domestic disturbance.

When police arrived, Thad Starner, 38, was found standing outside a home near his apartment.

Starner told police he became angry when his girlfriend was not at his apartment when he came home. When she did arrive, "a verbal argument ensued."

Police found Starner’s girlfriend in his apartment with a tooth that appeared to be chipped, redness on her neck and abrasions near her collarbone. The victim told police that Starner put his hand over her mouth during the argument, which resulted in her front tooth being chipped.

Starner was arraigned before District Judge John Capobianco and was charged with two counts of simple assault and harassment.

Starner was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
