Lehigh Valley Under Flood Watch
Heavy rain predicted for Monday and Tuesday leads National Weather Service to issue valleywide flood watch.
The Natonal Weather Service has issued a flood watch in effect for the Lehigh Valley from Monday afternoon until the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 7.
- Rainfall of 2-4 inches is expected in a 48-hour period with higher localized totals of 6 inches.
- This new rainfall following the record-high rains of August will cause street, stream and basement flooding.
- River flows remain above normal and river flooding could become a concern later this week.
The forecast shows we may not get a completely dry day until Friday.

Might be interesting to monitor how effective water retention basins are in newer developments

It's so wet outside that I stuck a dead sunflower stalk into the dead trunk of my fallen (from Irene) tree yesterday. Today the sunflower leaves are wide and broad and upright and looking like I fed them a little blue football shaped pill.
