'I Touched the Future' to Honor Former NASD Board, Employees

The 'I Touched the Future' recognition award has been developed to recognize former Nazareth Area School District employees and school board members.

Nazareth's superintendent announced on Monday the creation of the "I Touched the Future" recognition award, which was developed to recognize former district employees and Board of Education members.

All individuals who have, at one time, been an employee of the Nazareth Area School District and/or a member of the Board of Education are eligible for recognition, according to Superintendent Dennis Riker.

Each year during April, the Office of the Superintendent will solicit nominations for the award. Individuals interested in nominating a potential recipient must submit a letter—not to exceed 500 words in length—indicating the reasons for their nomination. All applications must be received no later than April 30.

The following are a few examples of why an individual would be considered:

Each recipient will receive a plaque noting their accomplishment. In addition, an annual plaque will be placed in each building’s office or lobby area and the board room to display the accomplishment of the award recipients.

The plaques will become a part of the superintendent’s line-item budget at no increase to the budget.
