Dancing Pro Mark Ballas Receives New Martin Guitar
Four months after a thief smashed his car window and stole the first guitar he ever bought, Mark Ballas tweets a picture of "Marty 2.0."
"Marty 2.0" -- that's what Mark Ballas, who is best known for turning celebrities into ballroom dancers on "Dancing With The Stars," is proudly calling his brand new Martin Guitar.
On his verified Twitter account -- @MarkBallas -- Ballas tweeted:
"Marty 2.0 :) thanks @martinguitar glad to have u back in the Arsenal..."
Exactly four months ago, however, Ballas was grieving the loss of the first guitar he ever bought -- a 000-18 slim-body Martin Guitar.
In a video posted on TMZ.com, Ballas told a cameraman that his car was broken into and his guitar was taken.
"If anyone finds a Martin 000-18 slim-body acoustic guitar at any pawn shop in [Los Angeles] -- that's the first guitar I bought -- I will double whatever you pay for it," Ballas said.
In the same way he showed off "Marty 2.0," Ballas took to his Twitter account back in October to share the news of his loss:
"2 precious things stolen from me in a week... My breitling watch and now my car just got broke into and my first Martin guitar was taken.."
A few minutes later, he wrote:
"Good by Marty... You were my favorite... Hope you get pawned to an owner that will play you well.. I'll miss you bud..."
With that tweet, which was posted on Oct. 1, Ballas posted a link to a picture of himself playing his Martin.
Four months later, on Feb. 1, he posted a photo of "Marty 2.0."
