Bon-Ton Sales Up in May
Department store Bon-Ton reports higher sales and revenue for the month of May.
Bon-Ton, which has stores at Palmer Park Mall near Easton and Westgate Mall in Bethlehem, made more money in May, marking an improvement over sales that dropped in April.
The York-based department store chain says business is improving thanks to new merchandise, a revamped marketing plan and stronger online sales.
Total revenue for four weeks that ended May 26 rose 1.2 percent to $183.1 million.
Year-to-date, total sales fell 0.8 percent to $823.9 million.
Bon-Ton has 272 stores, including 11 furniture galleries, in 23 states.
