Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony to be Held on Center Square Tonight

The Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce plans to host close to 800 area children at its annual tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, December 2.

Hot chocolate, caroling and Kris Kringle are just a few of the features Nazareth residents can expect at the Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce's annual tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, December 2, beginning at 7 p.m.

"The tree lighting ceremony is a nice tradition for Nazareth residents," said Tina Smith, president of the Nazareth Area Chamber of Commerce.  "It's something of our own."

The event will take place on Center Square in downtown Nazareth.  Entertainment will be provided by The Nazareth Area High School Brass Ensemble and by Kids for America, a group made up of the Gilbert family.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive via fire truck and all children will receive a candy cane compliments of Wegman's, and a stuffed Christmas cow compliments of Chick-fil-A.

Several local dignitaries are scheduled to attend, including Congressman Charlie Dent and State Representatives Joe Emrick and Marcia Hahn.

Attendees are asked to bring a canned good for the Nazareth Area Food Bank.
