Are you looking for a winter 5K to jumpstart your spring half/marathon training??  Do you know that heart defects are the #1 birth defect??  Do these questions seem unrelated?? Not anymore!!  On February 9th, 2013, Warm Hearts 5k run and 1 mile walk for Heart Defect Awareness will take place in Nazareth.  Come out and run the 5K through the Borough, or stroll at a leisurely pace for about a mile.  All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association.   Two-year-old Borough resident, Sam Vlasics, is the inspiration for this event.  He will be the 2013 Child Chair for the LV Heart and Stroke Walk.  Sam required live-saving surgery a week after he was born.  Thanks to advances in pediatric heart surgery, he is a lively, spirited toddler.  Funding for research is critical!  Support the AHA by running or walking on February 9th.  You can register at www.pretzelcitysports.com (nominal fee) or print the application shown here and mail it in.  Sponsorship opportunities are also available.  See you soon <3
